Hello!

I create experiences and visuals that fuse information, concepts, and aesthetics. I believe an interdisciplinary approach to design and visual communication is key to crafting impactful and enduring messages. To achieve this impact, I stay current on social, philosophical, and creative developments and remain up-to-date on technical advances.

During my education at F+F Schule für Kunst und Design i was fortunate enough to learn from great contemporary designers like: Josh Schaub, Sebastian Cremers, Jörg Schwertfeger and Dafi Kühne — aswell as many more.

I hope you enjoy this selection of projects.

    Independent Paper Show

The Independent Paper Show (IPS) connects paper producers, creatives, and the interested to share and show paper.  The design utilizes the paper format as a key visual to create a cohesive visual language for the event.

Vibrant, yet sophisticated, colors enclose the faux-formats, framing the paper samples and highlighting their unique characteristics. This angled element, conditioned by the fold of the paper, acts as a window into the possibilities of paper. The playful headline font adds a contemporary touch to the event’s emphasis on creativity and innovation, while staying true to its paper roots.

The quarterly program for the Schaffhauser Stadttheater features a leporello fold that allows for adjustable sizing.

Pink gradient color beams are used to highlight important areas of the columns, providing visual interest and guiding the reader’s eye. The typography used refines the text with playful serifs that provide a decorative quality while maintaining readability in all sizes.

  • 2023
  • 21 x 21 cm / Flatbook

Das Aber + Oder challenges the notion of objectivity by emphasizing the subjective nature of perception.

The design uses red and blue ink overlaid on each page, allowing the reader to explore different interpretations through the use of red and blue plastic sheets. This technique, known as polychromie, highlights the relativity of viewpoints and demonstrates how attitude can drastically alter the interpretation of a subject.

    Rewired

The cover art for this jazz album titled „Rewired“ draws inspiration from the album’s theme of reviving and recording long existing song-ideas.

The design features vibrant wires in an array of saturated colors, symbolizing the fusion of various instruments and their unique characteristics in jazz music. These wires are depicted in spontaneous but symbiotic movements, capturing the improvisational essence of jazz.

  • The Forgotten

  • Editorial / Layout
  • 2023
  • A5 / Flyer
  • for QV23

This series of cookbooks lays its focus on ingredients that have fallen out of fashion over time and presents them as a sustainable, 'retro-exotic' means for contemporary cooking. The project was completed for my final exam in my apprenticeship as a Grafiker EFZ.

We begin with high-contrast black and white photography portraying the vegetables in the garden, analog to the old, forgotten nature of the ingredients. This is further emphasized by the use of the Fraktur typeface. When the transition into the recipes occurs, the paper changes to a bright color representing the modern and contemporary era. At this point, the second typeface becomes dominant, intensifying the contrast between old and new.

    Wandel mit Rechnung
    (change at a cost)

This editorial explores gentrification through informative text and analog photography showcasing affected areas.

The book is divided into two sections: written content and photographic elements, separated by a red sheet of transparent paper symbolizing societal divisions caused by gentrification.

To commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the F+F School of Art and Design a book showcasing a range of projects, courses, and exhibitions that the school has archived over the years was created.

It includes real documents from the past highlighted in bold orange, text about the school's evolution and key projects as well as black and white photographs created by current students. In its final chapter a catalogue of questions is displayed in four alternating columns, creating a passive discourse.

    Java Schattentheater
  • Design / Layout
  • 2021

The poster’s design uses dramatic highlights against a solid black background to create a dynamic exchange between text and figures.

The characters, positioned on opposite sides of the poster, create the illusion of a chase-like interaction between them, evoking a sense of theatrical drama.

  • Merz — Schmerz
  • (Merz — Pain)

  • Text / Layout
  • 2022
  • A5 / Flyer
  • for Yanik Merz

The brute feel of this exhibition's theme, pain, is represented by a harsh visuality.

The simple, black on red paper printing process undermines this visual and creates a contrast heavy interplay between painting and signal color. It also makes this project cost efficient. The backside consists of logical order, conditioned by the three displayed information types.
